Bio
As a passionate musician, Geneque Garrison has always had a fascination for instruments and the unique way that music can touch each and every person. After years of committed study and practice, she became a professional pianist and multi-instrumentalist with a unique sound, performing for packed audiences in the Maryland Eastern Shore area, Salisbury University, Carnegie Hall, and beyond. She also performs and serves as an advisory board member for the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, is the newly appointed chairperson for the National Guild of Piano Teachers (a division of the American College of Musicians)–Salisbury Center, and is a 2020 recipient of the Reimagined President’s Innovation Award through the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation, an award given to promising students for their excellence in the field of music education, performance and professional audio technology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education (K-12 certification), Piano Performance and Music Technology from Salisbury University.
Presently, Garrison is very active in the community teaching music lessons at her private studio in Berlin, MD as well as through Salisbury University's PRESTO Program. She also continues to perform for concerts and is often found working magic behind the scenes as an audio/visual technician at Salisbury University.
